All the weeding and such I did in the last few years in the garden has paid off, and I have lots of roses. Sitting here with the window open, the scent is lovely!

Also, [personal profile] ellenmillion 's crowdfunding campaign for her beautiful Unicorn Key cards, is up and it has funded (so it will definitely be real!). The campaign still has nearly 3 weeks to go, and she's already close to funding the third stretch goal.

I have an actual, properly printed prototype deck, complete with gilded edges, in a lovely magnetic box (which she hopes she can offer as a stretch goal), and, to celebrate, you are welcome to ask for a free one card reading, or a paid reading using one of her layouts.

I have permission to post pictures, so in addition to my reading of the card, you'll get to see a photo of your card, posed next to one of my roses, weather permitting. (If you ask for a reading, you'll get a picture of the reading with Ellen's art as backdrop instead.)

To order your own deck, go here:  www.backerkit.com/c/projects/ellen-million-graphics/a-unicorn-key-oracle-and-guide-deck

As always, New friends and old are very welcome.

Status: If you want a reading now, please ask on this new post (just so I don't have to check both places):  https://wyld-dandelyon.dreamwidth.org/477331.html

About the readings,

You can simply ask for a single card with no obligation to tip (though tips are very much appreciated, and tipping allows you to ask for one clarifying card if the initial reading is not clear to you).

I am offering Unicorn Key readings for $20. I can choose a random layout, or if you share your question, I'll pick a layout that suits. Most of these readings are 3-6 cards.

Regardless of the length of the reading, you may ask about real life or a creative project, or even for a character you play in a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for your protagonist or villain, or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts.

The first card is free (though tips are always appreciated). I understand all too well that when people don't have cash or spoons that is generally when they most need inspiration. Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip.

When you tip, it's helpful to me for you to mention it here so I can connect your Paypal information with your request. Tips should be at least $2 (Paypal charges fees). If Paypal doesn't work for you, drop me a message and we'll work something out. The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which does inspire me even though it isn't Tarot- or Oracle-related. Or you can use paypal.me/DeirdreMMurphy

I will reply to all requests. If I start to feel overwhelmed, I will close to free readings; in that unlikely event, that will be in nice bold letters after the word Status above. I plan to stay open at least through the weekend for free readings. After that, you can certainly ask for a paid reading, if you want one. (Yes, I still have the stupid long covid, though it's getting (oh so slowly) better, so if I'm too tired or can't focus at any particular moment, I'll rest and return later. I appreciate your patience when that happens.)

As always, while I work hard to offer insight and inspiration, all I can legally promise is entertainment. See my "Dandelyon's Readings" page for a little more about my readings.

The new moon was ushered in by thunderstorms, here where I live, so I'm not going to be doing gardening today. That makes it a perfect time to do readings for people.  The new moon is a perfect time to consider beginnings, new projects, and the like, but just as every day is a new day, every day is a good day to consider where you are and where you're going.

Also, speaking of new things, [personal profile] ellenmillion is gearing up to crowdfund her lovely Unicorn Key cards, and I'm lucky enough to have an early prototype deck, so I'm offering to use these cards for readings.

For more information, or to order cards once the campaign is started, go here: www.backerkit.com/call_to_action/dd78de0e-e1ac-49a5-8415-a59c4f631500/landing

Status: Still Open

About the readings,

You can simply ask for a single card with no obligation to tip (though tips are very much appreciated, and tipping allows you to ask for one clarifying card if the initial reading is not clear to you).

I am also offering a three-card reading for $20 or a five-card reading for $35, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. A signal boost for readings or for my Patreon (www.patreon.com/Wyld_Dandelyon) will also allow you to ask for a clarification card on some part of this reading, if you still have a question after seeing the first card(s).

The five card circle spread I designed is described here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/dandelyons-five-60824603 If you want a five card reading, that is one option, but not the only one. For a three card reading, you can ask for past/present/future, insight into an issue (or life in general) and two ways to deal with it, or something else. Also, a special offer for this week:  for the three-card reading price, if you ask for a Unicorn Key reading, I'll choose one of Ellen's readings designed for those cards, whichever I think is most apt for your question, even if that reading has more than three cards.

Regardless of the length of the reading, you may ask about real life or a creative project, or even for a character you play in a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for your protagonist or villain, or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts, and I can modify a more-traditional five-card spread into a prompt for a story focusing on plot or characters or a little of both. Let me know if you have any particular request.

You can pick from Ellen's Unicorn Key, or one of the following other decks:   the Daughters of the Moon Tarot (one of the round decks), the Shapeshifter Tarot, or my combined Goddess and Shaman Susan Seddon Boulet art cards (I usually suggest this deck if you want a Guide). If you don't pick a deck, I'll draw a card from the Unicorn Key, since I'm excited for that one right now.

The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which does inspire me even though it isn't Tarot-related. Or you can use paypal.me/DeirdreMMurphy

I will reply to all requests. If I start to feel overwhelmed, I will close to free readings; in that unlikely event, that will be in nice bold letters after the word Status above. I plan to stay open at least until late Wednesday for free readings. After that, you can certainly ask for a paid reading, if you want one. Yes, I still have the stupid long covid, though it's getting (oh so slowly) better, so if I'm too tired or can't focus at any particular moment, I'll rest and return later.

I may not post images here because am not comfortable posting other people's art in a public place on the internet without permission. (If I find an already-existing photo of your card, I might link to it.)  However, I do have permission to post the Unicorn Key art here.

Thank you, Blessed Be, and may the new moon bring blessings for joy and dreams made happily true!

Hello!

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?  I’ve been busy gardening (I’ve gotten pictures on my Facebook), working on defeating the GOP (I’ve posted about that on Facebook too), and writing. Time flies when you're busy; I didn't realize it's been so long.

I have also been posting to my Patreon.  A good number of the posts become public after a while, and I  recently put a few things there open to the public as gifts to my friends as a kind of birthday celebration.  You do not have to sign up as my patron to read or comment on public posts, though if you can and want to, you would be very welcome.

As to the writing, I’m almost 29000 words into my Cozy Mystery With Sea Monsters. (That’s the elevator pitch, at least, and I suppose it’s the working title too.  I’ll worry about a real title later.)  My amateur sleuth is busy annoying the professional ones, of course.  I'm having fun writing it.

I also wrote a story to submit to Sword and Sorceress 33—and it sold!  The anthology will be out in November. It's called Lin's Hoard. More details when I have them.

More recently, I wrote a 6500 word story for an anthology on fighting fascism, which I think is a really good story.  At least I hope it is!  Longer stories usually have to be excellent to sell.  For some reason, I'm having more trouble than usual forgetting this one is out there, in the editors' submission pool.

Cleaning house and otherwise getting ready for a phone bank pretty much took up my birthday, so I was delighted to find a surprise package in my mail today.  When I opened it, I found two absolutely beautiful Tarot decks!  I am totally claiming them as belated birthday gifts. My errands today ran long, so instead of wrangling things to get the pictures to post directly here, I'm sharing my facebook post.  The post is public, so you should be able to just go there and see it.

In honor of the gift, I’m doing a card reading.

As always, New friends and old are very welcome.

About the readings, I'm doing something a little different.  All free readings will be done with one of the new decks (the 78 Artist Nautical Tarot or The Oracle of the Dragonfae).

People who tip and people who are supporting my Patreon will get a three card reading from one of the new decks or can ask for a single card from one of my other decks.  Patreon supporters can always ask for a clarifying card.

The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which does inspire me even though it isn't Tarot-related.

If you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. A signal boost for readings or for my Patereon will also allow you to ask for a clarification card on some part of your reading, if you wish.

Regardless of the length of the reading, you may ask about real life or a creative project, even for a character you play in a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can read for your protagonist or villain, can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts. Let me know if you have any particular request.

It's also helpful to remind me if you're a Patreon supporter, especially a new one!

I will reply to all requests. If I start to get overwhelmed, I will close to free readings; in that unlikely event, that will be in nice bold letters. I plan to stay open until late Friday for free readings. After that, you can ask for a paid reading, if you want one.

Thank you, Blessed Be, and may your day be full of joy and dreams made happily true!

I'm going to try something different this time around.  ( Being a New Moon, it should be a good time to experiment.)

I have a Tarot post due at my Patreon, but between the work I'm doing to try to get better elected officials into office, some totally unnecessary interpersonal drama, and my head full of the work in progress, I open a blank page to write about Tarot and it stays blank..  I'm also getting ready to perform at the 19th Street Coffeehouse in their Midwinter Talent Contest on Saturday, I've got a Writer's Group meeting on Sunday, and a sick cat who needs extra care in his old age.  So, I've lots of non-Tarot things cluttering my brain, and I'm finding that I don't seem to have any handy topic-hooks handy for a proper reasonable-sized post.  (I know there's lots of possible hooks, they're just evading me.)

So, instead of free readings, I propose the following:

  • Anyone who poses at least one question/topic about Tarot, writing, music, art, or some other creative thing I do can request a card.
  • If you don't want a card, you can still ask a question or suggest a topic (or more than one), and receive my thanks for your kindness.
  • All of my Patrons over on Patreon can ask for a card, and people who are Patrons specifically for my Tarot work get two.  Just remind me.  Please feel free to ask a question or suggest a topic if you want, but it's not required of patrons.
  • Anyone who tips can also get a card whether or not they pose a question or topic hook.  The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which still inspires me even though it isn't Tarot-related.
  • Patrons, people who have tipped, and people who have signal boosted (for this draw or for my Patreon) can ask a clarifying question after I do their reading, and I will draw another card for you.
  • I am continuing to offer a five-card reading for $25, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs.
As always, new friends and old are very welcome.

About the readings,

You may ask about real life or a creative project, even for a character you play in a game.

You can pick from my decks, including the Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle, the Daughters of the Moon Tarot (one of the round decks), or the Shapeshifter Tarot. If you want a Guide to companion you in the new year or the holidays, the Susan Seddon Boulet or Fairies Oracle both work well. If you don't pick a deck, I might pick from any of the decks available to me (I have a whole shelf of them).

I understand all too well that when people don't have cash or spoons that is generally when they most need inspiration. Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip--just let me know some topic or question you'd like me to post about.

If you're not a Patron, and I use your question for a patrons-only post, I will privately share that post with you as a thank-you.  If I use it for a public post, I'll reply with the link.

When you tip, it's helpful to me for you to mention it here so I can connect your Paypal information with your request. Tips should be at least $2 (Paypal charges fees). If Paypal doesn't work for you, drop me a message and we'll work something out.

I will reply to all requests, though with the contest and writers group this weekend, there may be a little delay, depending on when I see your post.

Thank you, and Blessed Be.

Status: Open!   I plan to leave this post open through Sunday night.

The holidays are always busy, and always fraught with food-danger. I lost most of Christmas Day to food allergies, but had a good Christmas anyway, getting to see family and being gifted with way too many Deirdre-safe cookies and even a pie by my daughter. Oh, well, those will keep.

But that put me behind on writing things, and I ended up working on a story far too late into the night today. But I did finish it by the deadline to submit it--and when I read it aloud after submitting it, found almost no typos. (I'd rather none at all, of course, but a 4000+ word story with only a couple of typos isn't horrible.)

So, here we are on New Year's Day, looking at a new year that, I hope, will bring better things to us all than the old one did. Come, visit a while, and I'll do a reading if you want.

As always, New friends and old are very welcome.

(Edit: I tried to put a picture in here and kept getting an error message. *sigh*)

The interwebs tell me that this is the "Micro Moon." I'm not quite sure what to make of that, except of course that it's time to read cards for people. The Winter Solstice is coming up too. Given how busy things are for everyone (including me), I'm leaving this open until December 23.

Feel free to ask about the new year if you want, since magically the new moon and new year are the same kind of energy, but I do plan to do a Full Moon reading on January 1, so you can, instead, ask for advice on handling the holidays or on new projects or, really, anything you want.

If you want to give me a present this Yule, please go look at my Patreon, I'd love to hear what you think. I'll be posting a 1st draft chapter of my Quirky Writer's Guide to Foiling Writer's Block in the next day or two, and then will start work on a post for my very first (and treasured) patron.

Would people be interested in a more expensive reading for the new year? If so, a month-by month reading or something else? If there's interest, I can arrange to do that on the Solstice or as part of the January 1 readings.

As always, New friends and old are very welcome.

I've been busy.  I made a Patreon Page, but what with conventions and Thanksgiving and so much else, I've had the start of a post telling people about it hanging out on my computer for days.   So there's a couple of posts (one free and one for supporters) there that no one  has seen or commented on, and I have no patrons at all yet.

I also have started to figure out all the things I should do before I close my LJ account.

And I won NaNoWriMo, finishing a young adult novel and starting the sequel.  I also rewrote the prequel, though I didn't count that toward my word count.

And I called my congress critters. (Shame on my Republican Senator for allowing a vote on an unfinished and unread bill!).  I even managed to catch Ho-Oh.

And now I'd better pay bills and sign up for healthcare and make my lists (and check them twice) and...lots of stuff!

So I feel reasonably accomplished, and yet totally behind too!  Oh, well, such is life.

And here it is, the full moon again.  It's allegedly the "Cold Moon", though it's been in the 50s out during the day.  Climate change is no joke, folks.

But still, it's the full moon, and so it is time for readings.  New friends and old are very welcome.

About the readings,

You can simply ask for a single card (with the usual clarifying card for people who tip). The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which still inspires me even though it isn't Tarot-related.

I am also offering a five-card reading for $25, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. As always, a signal boost will allow you to ask for a clarification card on some part of this reading, if you wish. Alternatively, for at least $10 you can ask for a Torn World reading and get an in-character reading set in Affamarg or the Breidalam Mountains using that world's standard layout for the divination disks.

Regardless of the length of the reading, you may ask about real life or a creative project, even for a character you play in a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for your protagonist or villain, or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts, and I can modify a more-traditional five-card spread into a prompt for a story focusing on plot or characters or a little of both. Or I could do something completely different.  Let me know if you have any particular request.

For free one card readings, you can pick from the Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle, the Daughters of the Moon Tarot (one of the round decks), or the Shapeshifter Tarot. If you don't pick a deck, I might pick from any of the decks available to me.

The first card is free (though tips are always appreciated). Paid readings, short or long, also let you ask me to use any of my other decks, including but not limited to my combined Susan Seddon Boulet Animal Spirits and Goddesses cards and my Fantasy Showcase Tarot deck where each card was done by a different science fiction/fantasy artist.

Tipping can also be used to request a private reading.

Signal boosts are very much appreciated, and also earn you the right to ask for a clarifying card. (If you only signal boost, please do not ask for two cards to start with. A clarifying card, if the reading is unclear to you, is fine.)

I understand all too well that when people don't have cash or spoons that is generally when they most need inspiration. Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip.

I've written before about why I do readings and about some of the decks I use here, feel free to hop over and check me out. I'll wait.

I will reply to all requests. In the highly unlikely event that the number of requests nears my limits, I'll close this card draw by changing the status line below rather than risk leaving anyone without a response.

Thank you, and Blessed Be!

I've been busy, and missed the Full Moon. Ah, well, I did get some paintings into a mini-art exhibit here in town and I have been doing NaNoWriMo, trying to finish and then start some new unicorn-related stories. (Since I had a deadline for rewriting one snow-unicorn story and for finishing another, I named this year's "Novel" Unicorn Triptych. I've also been working on A Fiction Writer’s Quirky Guide to Courting Inspiration and Foiling Writer’s Block and musing about that Patreon thing. I have actually started to write up some rewards and goals, and am hesitating about whether I've got them at all right. I'm also hesitating about doing a video. Ack!

What have you been up to? I love to hear from you.

Life keeps being, well, life. I sure don't feel balanced, either in world news (so many hurricanes and earthquakes!) or politics (I can't believe the GOP is still trying to take away my health care) or personal life (renewing my license plate is expensive enough without having the engine light on my car start to glow to assure me I'd fail the emissions test without repairs). Life feels so very uncertain, for me and for so many, many other people right now. It would be too easy to get lost in worrying, but that isn't a good life, and wouldn't help me or anyone else.

Last weekend, we went to a Pagan Pride gathering and got to listen to one of my favorite musical groups. While I was there, I let myself be talked into getting a reading by a lady who used three different animal-based decks. I had too many possible questions in mind, so I stuck with the simple question, "what do I most need to know?". She drew me Armadillo, which she said was all about setting boundaries appropriately, but also a warning to face my troubles and not try to hide in my shell. Armadillo was flanked by lizard, for dreams, and snake, for rebirth. My spirit Guide was drawn from another deck, and was Panda, who advised me to create a sacred space in my home and place of work. Finally, from a deck that's all wolves, I received the advice that I'm at a crossroads. The more I think about boundaries and sacred space, the more different ways I see that this reading applies in my life. So I've been working to get my spaces in better shape for the work I need to do and the life I want to live. Maybe I'll write more about that in a separate post.

But it's Equinox (or about to be), and the New Moon (or was, just a bit ago), so I'm reminded that one of the sacred things I chose to do for this year is to do regular readings. Maybe I can bring you some inspiration or some insight to help you find a new balance in your life.

So, on to the readings.

New friends and old are very welcome. I'd love to do a bunch of readings!

I am continuing to offer a five-card reading for $25, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. As always, a signal boost will allow you to ask for a clarification card on some part of this reading, if you wish. Alternatively, you can ask for a Torn World reading and get an in-character reading in Affamarg or the Breidalam Mountains using that world's standard layout for the divination disks.

Or, of course, you can simply ask for a single card (with the usual clarifying card for people who tip). The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which still inspires me even though it isn't Tarot-related. I'm still thinking about doing an appropriate self-portrait. Not today--but should it be realistic or abstract? Me as I am, or me as I might be portrayed in a deck? The idea is percolating, anyway. But back to readings!

You may ask about real life or a creative project, even a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for a character or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts, and I can modify a more-traditional five-card spread into a prompt for a story focusing on plot or characters or a little of both.

For free one card readings, you can pick from the Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle, the Daughters of the Moon Tarot (one of the round decks), or the Shapeshifter Tarot. You can ask a question, ask for a Guide or for inspiration, or you can just ask for a card. I don't need to know what your question is, but you are welcome to share it with me if you like.

The first card is free (though tips are always appreciated). Tips (including requests for longer readings) also let you ask me to use any of my other decks, including but not limited to my combined Susan Seddon Boulet Animal Spirits and Goddesses cards and my Fantasy Showcase Tarot deck where each card was done by a different science fiction/fantasy artist.

Tipping can also be used to request a private reading, or to draw a clarifying card if the initial card (or paid multi-card reading) leaves you with questions. If you want a longer reading, send a direct message so we can agree on the type of reading and rate.

Signal boosts are very much appreciated, and also earn you the right to ask for a clarifying card. (If you only signal boost, please do not ask for two cards to start with. A clarifying card, if the reading is unclear to you, is fine.)

I understand all too well that when people don't have cash or spoons that is generally when they most need inspiration! Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip.

If you tip, it's helpful to me for you to mention it here so I can connect your Paypal information with your request. Tips should be at least $1 (Paypal charges fees). If Paypal doesn't work for you, drop me a message and we'll work something out.

I've written before about why I do readings and some of the decks I use here, feel free to hop over and check me out. I'll wait.

I will reply to all requests. In the highly unlikely event that the number of requests nears my limits, I'll close this card draw by changing the status line below rather than risk leaving anyone without a response.

Thank you, and Blessed Be!

Status: Open to free readings through 9/24; open to tipped readings until this status message is changed.

As always, these readings are for entertainment and inspiration only. See my "Dandelyon's Readings" page if you have questions.

Status: No new free card requests, please. Paid readings are fine, however.

So, I've been dealing with a family medical thing, and not much on the internet. I have a partially-written post about the wonderful writer's conference I went to last month that I haven't finished, and other stuff to share, but mostly what's been on my mind is this medical thing, and it's not my story to tell (which I am finding is frustrating for a storyteller to deal with). But I will continue to respect the person's wish for privacy, and not share details. It's nothing to be alarmed about, however, though I was worrying for a while. But medical stuff is always like that--there's always a chance things could go wrong, or something is worse than the doctors thought. So you worry. It's a part of being human, I think.

Today I'm wishing I could travel to see the eclipse properly in totality, but it is not to be. We'll see as much as we can from outside the clinic where there's a doctor's appointment shortly after as much of the totality as we'll get to experience. I guess I'll count my blessings and be happy that the appointment isn't during the height of it.

The cards are set out in a big window, out of their silk wrappings to absorb the energy of the eclipse.

I'm going to offer a five-card reading for $25 or a three-card for $20, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. As always, a signal boost will allow you to ask for a clarification card on some part of this reading, if you wish.

Or, of course, you can simply ask for a single card (with the usual clarifying card for people who tip or boost the signal). The guitar case below is my personal PayPal link, featuring my own artwork, which still inspires me even though it isn't Tarot-related.

So, let's see if I can offer some some inspiration or spark some creativity for you. You can ask about real life or a creative project, or even a game. Ask that once-in-a-lifetime question, if you want, in your heart if you don't want to write it out. Perhaps the energy of the eclipse will offer special insight. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for a character or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts, and I can modify a more-traditional spread into a prompt for a story focusing on plot or characters or a little of both.

New friends and old are very welcome. I'm happy to have you visit.

Tips (including requests for longer readings) also let you ask me to use my combined Susan Seddon Boulet Animal Spirits and Goddesses cards. Other decks (unless you want me to read for you using Magic the Gathering cards, which have great artwork and therefore could be used) are not available right now. Tipping can also be used to request a private reading, or to draw a clarifying card. If you want a longer reading, send a direct message so we can agree on the type of reading and rate.

Signal boosts are very much appreciated, and also earn you the right to ask for a clarifying card. I'd love to do a bunch of readings for this eclipse! I expect to stay open until at least Tuesday night, and possibly longer.

However, I intend to stay open through the weekend, and longer for paid readings.

Thank you, Blessed Be, and Happy Eclipse!

The furniture is interestingly shuffled, right now. I'm gathering stuff in the living room to give to the Habitat for Humanity Restore. We'll see how much of the attic I can clear out before their scheduled arrival date. It should be a substantial declutter, if nothing else.

Outside, the roses are blooming. Oddly enough, this year they started blooming before the day lilies, which are just getting started. If you come by and don't see me right away, come around back and tell me I can stop weeding around the tomato plants for a bit! The weeds are quite tall, as I've been busy with indoor tasks and runs to the Geek Squad, glasses place, and other such tasks.

Computer follies have continued, the car acquired a large screw in a non-repairable part of one tire, and when I went in to get the replacement "temple" (arm) of my glasses replaced, they broke the still-functional old one, so my glasses are still kind of wobbly on my face (the spares they found to loan me in the meantime have a "spring feature" that, in my opinion, is a "spring bug").

But still, it's summer and nice out (here, anyway--no 100 degree temps this far inland so far).

I'm going to continue offering a five-card reading for $25, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. As always, a signal boost will allow you to ask for a clarification card on some part of this reading, if you wish. So, the computer follies continued for so long the Geek Squad guys told me they were tired of seeing me. I realized several days after the New Moon that I'd missed posting. I do apologize about that! Life's been busy, and making multiple trips to the computer store in between getting help online didn't help my focus at all.

Eventually they diagnosed the core problem--there is a tiny solid state hard drive that has failed and needs replacement in the computer. It's is invisible to the user, but that the operating system relies on. Urgh. Every salesman I talked to said those break less than the regular ones. Now that computer is off getting the drive replaced, and I'm praying that's all that's wrong with it. I miss having a computer that's all set up for the stuff I want to do. The good news, however, is that so far they've found no problems with the main hard drive, so I shouldn't get a blank slate back. I backed up all the files, but it's a pain to set up the programs.

In better news, I've signed up for an in-person writer's workshop with some fabulous teachers and an online course in anthology construction, so I'm hoping to build up my Paypal account to cover expenses. Therefore I'm offering a five-card reading for $25, or if you want a larger reading we can discuss costs. So, I got up today with the intention of posting this early, but my computer kept freezing. I closed it down and restarted it--repeatedly, with varied results. Eventually, when I couldn't even get the shut down menu to come up (much less work), I took it to the Geek Squad for a thorough internal scanning. Of course, the menu came up for them, but I think the hard drive is probably dying. The computer has been acting been flaky for a while, on and off, which prompted me to back up everything on it a couple of weeks ago. I added a bit to the backup before heading out, but there wasn't a lot that was new that hadn't been sent off via e-mail.

I might or might not have the old computer back, but not 'til this weekend at the earliest. In any case, I no longer trust it with my writing--I don't always have a beta reader to e-mail stuff to, after all. I also just started a new project, one that I actually have outlined (it's a cozy mystery, and mysteries seem, to my hindbrain at least, to need outlines) so I had planned to get a bunch of writing done over the next few days. I really don't want to lose momentum on it. So, when I dropped the old one off I crossed my fingers that nothing else will blow holes in my budget and picked out a new one.

Thus it is that I'm finally sitting down to offer to do readings, in between trying to get the new computer set up and changing passwords that the old computer knows (just in case). Here's hoping the full moon didn't bring you any similar surprises!

So, on to the readings.

As always, I hope to send some good energy out into the world, to spark some hope and creativity. You can ask about real life or a creative project, or even a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for a character or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts--starting something new is a traditional use of New Moon energy. But ask what you will, because now is always transforming into a new moment.

New friends and old are welcome.

Please consider dropping something in the guitar case below. Readings take time and energy, and even though the Milwaukee winter, like everything else, has been affected by global warming, winter heat is pricey and old houses always need repair somewhere or other.

Signal boosts are very much appreciated, and also earn you the right to ask for a clarifying card. I'd love to do a bunch of readings, under the circumstances!

It's a New Moon this evening, so I'm opening my garden for a card draw. As always, I hope to send some good energy out into the world, to spark some hope and creativity. You can ask about real life or a creative project, or even a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. But ask what you will, because now is always transforming into a new moment.

I hope you will stop by my garden. It's warm this evening, the grass is green, the roses are mostly starting to bud, and the dandelions and weeds are growing. There's a few tulips and daffodils--they're thinner than I would wish, since the squirrels think they're food when we first plant them, but spring blooms are always welcome. You and I can share hot chocolate or tea and chat, and you can get a reading if you would like one.

New friends and old are welcome.

It's a Full Moon tonight, and it was unseasonably warm for a couple of days. I wanted to go running and catch pokemons, but the garden needed tending and the taxes need attention, so I didn't get as much done on any of the things I want to have done, but did make some progress. Then it got windy, and cold, and the thunder came, and so I returned inside.

I divided out some of the tomato and pepper plants (where more than one seed grew in the same pot), and I scraped at some of my old pumpkin-squash seeds and soaked them in a tea of organic fertilizer. Maybe I'll have better luck with them having provided a little extra nutrition and made it easier for the seedlings to break free. I also soaked and planted some seeds from our iris and/or lily plants from a couple years back. I don't know if they'll germinate--those plants rarely even form seeds. But I figure it's worth trying to bring a little more beauty into the world.

And now to cards--I hope to send some good energy out into the world, to spark some hope and creativity. You can ask about real life or a creative project, or even a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for a character or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts. Play is sacred; ask for what you need, or just for the fun of it. Both new friends and old are welcome.

I hope you will stop by my garden. Dodge between the raindrops or come after the rain, when we can walk and see the buds on the lilacs and on the earlier rose bushes. We'll also see the weeds in the garden plot, of course. I haven't pulled them yet. And we can see the day lilies starting to push through the ground, and maybe a tulip or two. Then we can head inside for refreshments and, of course, your reading.

For free one card readings, you can pick from the Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle, my combined Susan Seddon Boulet Animal Spirits and Goddesses cards, or the Shapeshifter Tarot. You can ask a question, ask for a Guide, ask for inspiration, or you can just ask for a card. I don't need to know what your question is, but you are welcome to share it with me if you like.

I'll leave the new goal open--if donations reach $50 or more, I will use one or more of the cards drawn today as inspiration for a new acrylic sketch/painting, which I will share here, so you can all see how you inspire me.

I'll periodically update progress on that goal here. So far, I have received $6 of the $50 needed to prompt a sketch-level painting. If we go over that amount, I will put more time into moving the painting onward from the sketch stage.

I understand all too well that when people don't have cash or spoons that is generally when they most need inspiration! Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip.

There was a full moon this morning, but also a Tammy Baldwin town hall meeting (more about that later, here or on FB), so I put off this post until after getting home and eating. I am once again offering to draw cards with the hope of sending some good energy out into the world, to spark both hope and creativity. You can ask about real life, of course, or about a creative project. For instance, I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. Alternatively, I can draw a card for a character or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts.

There is a Torn World Muse Fusion coming up later this month; if you want a taste of that world and if you tip, you can ask for an in-character reading in that world for yourself or for a Torn World character. These readings take me more time and energy, which is why I don't offer them for free.

Daylight Savings time "sprung back" overnight, so it isn't getting dark quite so early, always a welcome thing. My "green room" has little pots, some with seedlings and some without. My work space is currently cluttered with acrylic paints, brushes, and canvasses that hold some very incomplete paintings. But come in, be welcome, whether you've visited before or not. I won't try to resist showing off my in-progress work, which includes the very start of a painting inspired (but not required) by the last two readings. The frog has a sore foot, and I envision adding at least Ffaff the Ffooter, examining the frog. Or perhaps the frog is a statue, and Ffaff is doing something else here...I'm not sure.

If I get at least $50 in this drawing, I'll do a separate painting for this drawing, as I said. If not, the readings here might be used to expand my vision of the Frogg & Ffaff painting.

But it's time to put the paintings aside for a bit, pay bills, and if you drop by, do some readings.

Until Wednesday, for free one card readings, you can pick from the Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle, my combined Susan Seddon Boulet Animal Spirits and Goddesses cards, or the Shapeshifter Tarot. You can ask a question, ask for a Guide, ask for inspiration, or you can just ask for a card. I don't need to know what your question is, but you are welcome to share it with me if you like.

If I get $50 in tips, I'll use the cards I draw to inspire a painting, and I'll post progress drawings here for you all to see. So far I've received $17.50 of $50 for this drawing.

The first card is free (though tips are always appreciated). Tips also let you ask me to use any of my other decks, to request a private reading, or to draw a clarifying card. If you want a longer reading, send a direct message so we can agree on the type of reading and rate.

Please consider dropping something in the guitar case below. Readings take time and energy, and there are still squirrels that think my house is their home tree. I will soon need to pay someone to undo the winter's damage.

Signal boosts are very much appreciated, and also earn you the right to ask for a clarifying card.

If that doesn't work for you, drop me a message and we'll work something else out.

I've written before about why I do readings and some of the decks I use here, feel free to hop over and check me out. I'll wait.

I will reply to all requests. In the highly unlikely event that the number of requests nears my limits, I'll close this card draw by adding a clear note at the top of the post rather than risk leaving anyone without a response.

Thank you, and Blessed Be!

As always, these readings are for entertainment and inspiration only. See my "Dandelyon's Readings" page if you have questions.

It's a New Moon tonight, so I am once again offering to draw cards with the hope of sending some good energy out into the world, to spark some hope and creativity. You can ask about real life or a creative project. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for a character or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts.

I hope you will stop by my garden. It was wonderfully warm for a few days, but then a storm blew in with thunder and rain, and now it's snowing. But it's nice and warm inside. I have a little round glass table that's etched with a dragon design; we can sit there by candle light or turn the lava lamps on. You and I can share hot chocolate or tea and chat, and you can get a reading if you would like one. Or we could make art together, or sing songs. Both new friends and old are welcome.

Until the end of the weekend, for free one card readings, you can pick from the Brian Froud's Faeries Oracle, my combined Susan Seddon Boulet Animal Spirits and Goddesses cards, or the Shapeshifter Tarot. You can ask a question, ask for a Guide, ask for inspiration, or you can just ask for a card. I don't need to know what your question is, but you are welcome to share it with me if you like.

This weekend, there's a rally for health care and a house filk on Saturday, so there may be a bit of a wait if you leave your request while I'm out. However, I intend to stay open at least through Sunday night, and longer for paid readings since, between the holidays and being in these days of low LJ usage, people may find the post late.

Thank you, and Blessed Be!

As I've noted before, I'm feeling more need for inspiration than usual, and I suspect that's true of many of my friends. I'm also thinking I may be able to use this card draw for my own inspiration (see below).

It's a Full Moon tonight, so I figure I'll offer to draw cards. I hope to send some good energy out into the world, to spark some hope and creativity. Both new friends and old are welcome.

I hope you will stop by my garden. It was windy outside earlier, but warm enough (above freezing, at least) that I went out to get some exercise and catch cute pixel-critters instead of posting this afternoon. But even with the warmer day, everything is still winter-grey. The garden plot is almost completely bare of snow, despite having been piled high earlier, but in a couple of months it will be time to start planting there. It's time to make plans and do some planting inside. I have a bunch of small plastic pots set by the sink to wash, and seed-starter mix to fill them with is in a bag nearby. But there's no particular hurry; you can stop by when you want and the winter-sleeping seeds will wait patiently.

Today I'm trying a new thing--if donations reach $50 or more, I will use one or more of the cards drawn today as inspiration for a new acrylic sketch/painting, which I will share here, so you can all see how you inspire me.

I'll periodically update progress on that goal here. So far, I have received $26 of the $50 needed to prompt a sketch-level painting. If we go over that amount, I will put more time into moving the painting onward from the sketch stage.

With the current state of things, I'm feeling more need for insight and inspiration than usual, and I'm thinking my friends might also be feeling the same. So I'm going to try to schedule card readings more often this year, hopefully at least once a month at either the full moon or the new (or possibly both). I'm also thinking I may be able to use this card draw for my own inspiration (see below).

It's a New Moon this evening, so I figure I'll offer to draw cards. I hope to send some good energy out into the world, to spark some hope and creativity.

I hope you will stop by my garden. It's windy outside today; the snow is all gone, and everything is still winter-grey. But we can move one of the little round tables into the library and sit under the wood carving of dragons playing. The guitar tree is in a corner, the there guitars each have a little tube stuck between the strings. If you ask, I explain that those are guitar humidifiers, to keep the wood supple. You and I can share hot chocolate or tea and chat, and you can get a reading if you would like one. Both new friends and old are welcome.

I'll periodically update progress on that goal here (on DW, the edits may or may not transfer over to LJ, I guess that's also an experiment). So far, I have received $12 of the $50 needed to prompt a sketch/painting. If we go over that amount, I will put more time into moving the painting onward from the sketch stage.
