Summer Solstice / Full Moon Card Draw

wyld_dandelyonHappy Solstice to you all, and also Happy Rose Moon*. May the turn of the seasons and the days (or nights) bring you the blessings you need and want.
ellenmillion 's beautiful Unicorn Key cards, so the free one card readings will be from that deck. I have an actual, properly printed prototype deck, complete with gilded edges, in a lovely magnetic box (which she hopes she can offer as a stretch goal), and, to celebrate, you are welcome to ask for a free one card reading, or a paid reading using one of her layouts.
I have permission to post pictures of the Unicorn Key readings, so in addition to my reading of the card, you'll get to see a photo of your card, posed next to one or more of my roses, weather permitting. (If you ask for a multi-card reading, you'll get a picture of the reading with Ellen's art as backdrop instead.)

About the readings,
You can simply ask for a single card with no obligation to tip (though tips are very much appreciated, and tipping allows you to ask for one clarifying card if the initial reading is not clear to you). You can also ask for a clarification card if you boost the signal, and help other people find this event. Just mention where you posted!
I am offering Unicorn Key readings for $20. I can choose a random layout from the ones Ellen designed, or if you share your question, I'll pick a layout that suits. Most of these readings are 3-6 cards. If you want a different deck, Three-card readings are $25, or five card for $40. Again, some vague idea of what type of thing you're asking about will help me pick a suitable layout, though you don't need to share your question unless you want to.
Regardless of the length of the reading, you may ask about real life or a creative project, or even for a character you play in a game. I can draw a card for you to meditate on, to represent the Guide you need right now, or to get you unstuck. I can draw a card for your protagonist or villain, or can draw a card or cards for you to use as writing or art prompts.
Tip are always appreciated, however, I understand all too well that when people don't have cash or spoons that is generally when they most need inspiration. Don't be afraid to ask for a card if you can't tip.
When you tip, it's helpful to me for you to mention it here so I can connect your Paypal information with your request. Tips should be at least $2 (Paypal charges fees). If Paypal doesn't work for you, drop me a message and we'll work something out. (Yes, I still have the stupid long covid, though it's getting (oh so slowly) better, so if I'm too tired or can't focus at any particular moment, I'll rest and return later. *There are different traditions for naming the full moons, but since I still have hundreds of roses blooming in my yard, I'm sticking with Rose Moon. My yard still smells marvelous!

Date: 2024-06-21 08:27 am (UTC)The sun has set here on the shortest day of the year and the moon is full. Fortunately it seems warmer than two nights ago when it was almost down to freezing.
Tomorrow it is supposed to rain and I will be driving 3 hours each way to a family funeral.
I am asking if there is something about the present that I may not have noticed and should perhaps pay attention to going forward.

This card is mostly about kindness given and received, but can reflect on other aspects of life as well. "Debt" is pretty straighforward, as an idea. Something is out of balance, and in any kind of relationship, things tend to go better if they are balanced and the people in them feel fairly treated. If you've been giving more than receiving, or vice versa, it's easy for someone to feel resentful or get burnt out. Do you have amends to make? Or have you received acts of kindness from someone who could use a little kindness in return? Or perhaps you can balance your own personal scales by paying kindness forward to someone else in need. With you headed to a funeral, the imbalance might be with family, or even with your deceased loved one. Sometimes paying back is not feasible or would not be felt as a kindness; in that case paying it forward is your best option. Alternatively, perhaps you need to grant grace to someone who hurt you inadvertently, or who is not in a position to repay their debt.
I get the feeling that this is more about your own peace of mind and heart than anything financial.
Whether you are the chickadee in this picture, appreciating a friendly perch and some companionship, or the unicorn, appreciating the beauty of the visiting bird, I wish you peace and solace at this time.

Date: 2024-06-22 04:31 am (UTC)If you are headed into battle, thick armor is a very good thing to defend us, and to allow us to defend things and people that matter to us. But if you are not in battle, armor is really heavy and hot and uncomfortable, and it can slow you down and make you less agile even in battle.
What armor are you wearing? Does it protect your heart or isolate it? Have your circumstances or skills changed since you put it on, so that maybe you don't need all of it all the time? Do you have habits that deflect conversations away from the kinds of intimacy and companionship you crave?
I can't say it's foolish to have your armor. Armor can be a very sensible thing to wear, in dangerous circumstances. And even if it's a good idea to take it off, it might be a very good thing to keep it handy in case of future need. But perhaps whatever literal or metaphorical armor you've surrounded yourself with is keeping you from your goals right now. Gather your courage and let people see a bit of the real you. That can be really hard, but it's the only way to see who might be compatible for a closer relationship, whether you're looking for a buddy or a romantic partner.
I'm not suggesting throwing all caution to the winds. You can choose which bits to share first. I remember deliberately talking about growing purple beans and purple tomatoes, because they were quite non-threatening, and if someone couldn't handle my weird preferences in vegetables there was no point in talking about science fiction, or tarot, or, well, hardly anything else. I remember another friend wearing argyle sox, because in the small farming community where she lived that labeled her as "weird but harmless" (similar to the result my youngest sister got from drawing all the time in school.) But you have to start somewhere, and be willing to share more of yourself when things go well.

Date: 2024-06-22 04:50 am (UTC)So this card is about preparing and adapting, making changes. It is saying Believe in Yourself, You've got this. Yeah, winter can be hard, especially where you live, but it is beautiful too, and you have the resources you need and you'll make things work.
If this card has any suggestions for the content of the edits, you'll have to see what the image itself suggests to you. To me it just says you need to have faith in yourself and your process.
I did take a photo of this card out with my roses, but then I thought I should take another picture with one of the cool decorated keys I got a while back at a con, and use that photo to see if I could help unlock your instincts and inspire you.

So, this card is about your personal energy--how much pressure you are under and managing that; whether if you don't show you're upset, or shout louder than whatever is trying to drown you out, you won't get heard; and whether you are keeping your temper in check and your energy controlled. You may have been teetering on the edge recently, trying to balance everything. Life is like that sometimes.
Remember that this energy is not good or evil in and of itself. It's just energy! It is, however, your energy, so you can choose how to express it and what to do with it. Do you need to yell to be heard? That can be a good thing! Even big explosions can be a good thing, making way for new things. But yelling isn't always the best choice, and it can be counterproductive. It can make people too defensive to listen. Explosions can destroy things you want to save, if you're not careful.
It's up to you to find the right flow, to choose how to use this energy and control it so that you are riding the wave instead of drowning in it.
